Michoel is an innovative educator, outdoor enthusiast and avid photographer. Michoel grew up in Australia where he used the 'Outback' to refine his photography skills. He pursued studies at Mayanot in Israel, the Rabbinical College of America in New Jersey and Rabbinical studies at Kollel Menachem in Brooklyn NY. darkness
Darkness, as you mention, represents for you evil.
Conversely darkness is a sacred space from which all amazing things are made manifest seeing and living life from this perspective is liberating.

The Darness Shaddows Of The Night While it is true that the darkness represent evil and the light represents Good. Our souls are the same way. In them is the ability to think and do what is Good or what is evil or darkness. Without the darkness the soul would not recognize or appreciate the Goodness of G-D. The darkness is never for a long time, the light will eventually come and bring with it the delights of G-D for that day as well.

Darkness
We say, you're brushing this under the rug, meaning, what is dark, is not being attended to, but we also say, I'm going to make a clean sweep of things, and that could mean, doing what's right, starting fresh, letting in the light.
There are two ways to view this. We also say, "It all comes out in the wash."

Darkness The only way to eradicate darkness is to expose it so that it can change into light. There are no secrets that won't manifest. All darkness will eventually be revealed. Then we'll all be able to see.
