Meeting The Rebbe Face To Face
In May of 1985 I decided to take my Tzedaka Box to 770 as it was full. I did not know much about Chabad Lubavitch . I got direction how to go.
I got to Eastern Parkway and there were thousands of Lubavitchers in the street
I finally parked my car on a a side street. I asked a Lubavitcher where is 770 he said 4 blocks straight ahead
I am now pushing my way through the crowd and finally get to 770 . I go up the 4 stairs and Lo and behold The Rebbe is facing me . I now go back down the 4 steps , I am on the sidewalk holding my Tzedakah Box in my left hand . My back touches the front door of the Grey Cadillac . I dropped my Tzedakah Box on the sidewalk . A young Lubavitcher opens the front door of the car for The Rebbe. The Rebbes looks straight into my eyes and gets in the front seat. I then closed the car door and picked up my Tzedakah Box and took it upstairs to the office . I could not believe what just happened. Several days later I told my story
Thank You! Blessings to All of You Chabad.org!
Who was Rebbe? Not superficially but cosmically? Special something?
A Rebbe is a special soul that comes into our world, but for their own selves and betterment - rather to elevate their generation and the world around them. In this case, the Rebbe is a leader that has brought us closer to the time of the Messiah where the entire world will be suffused with the awareness of G-d and only peace and an end to suffering.
My introduction to the Rebbe was though the Jewish Press which always came a week late. I grieved when the Rebbe died and so wished I could have met him. My husband and i were not raised Jewish and both were returning to Judaism. One night I had a vivid dream about the Rebbe. He had died and his body was laid out on a table in a huge tent of many colors. I glanced out the door of the tent and and saw white houses with red tile roofs and down the hill as far as i could see were Jews climbing up the street to see the Rebbe. I went and stood before him and deep inside my heart to my lips came the cry. "Why did you die, because i never had the chance to meet you." Suddenly he sat straight up and said, "I am not dead, I am alive!" I ran to the door of the tent and shouted out to the Jews, He's not dead, he's alive. i remember his beard was cut across the bottom. A week later I got my Jewish Press, a year after the Rebbe died with photos of him with his beard cut just like I had dreamed
The Rebbe did not cut his beard.
I was lucky enough to meet the Rebbe several times. I have a framed photo of him with 5 $1 US bills he gave me and my family just before his death.
The Rebbe was the Moshe Rabeinu of our generation.
We miss him immensely.
Tears in my eyes....
He literally heals my heart....
One of a kind-- he has taught me so much.
So inspirational it’s like water to a thirsty plant gives life to every soul .
Beautiful
Let us not forget, the scales of good and evil are assumed balanced, and one mitzvah could be the tipping point to merit our hastening the redemption immediately. May we all perform one more mitzvah and another after that, and again another after that, without limitation. May Hashem bless and illuminate you. Shalom.
Like the Rebbe, when see the goodness and Divine Spark in everyone, we are elevated to draw closer to HaShem via Mitzvot.
So moving,so inspired to helping another Jew do a mitzvah, hoping to see the Rebbe very soon with the coming of Moshiach
im 91 years inspired to do just one more mitzvah at a time
